"Practicing Tai-Chi and QiGong
can bring serenity and clarity to your mind,
relaxation and inner strength to your body,
and can transform your life."
Patricia's Teaching Style
I try to provide many options, and to accommodate various needs:
You can join a weekly Tai-Chi & QiGong class, and enjoy learning foundation skills and practicing forms.
You can also opt for short sessions of 4 QiGong classes focused on each season (fall, winter, spring and summer), and get a great introduction to QiGong, while learning useful health information for your lifestyle.
In workshops, you can focus on a specific health theme, such as optimizing your wellness program to the season, balancing your emotions, or improving your sleep.
If you are looking for something more tailored to your situation and needs, try private or semi-private lessons.
No time after work? Bring all this to your workplace, with Tai-Chi / QiGong classes, and lunch & learn sessions.
I have been teaching Tai-Chi and QiGong in the Kitchener-Waterloo region for about 12 years, focusing on making my students feel the benefits right away, while progressively enjoy and discover the riches of these internal arts.
I try to make it easy for my students to develop their own practice, and bring Tai-Chi and QiGong into their health maintenance program. I teach mostly short and easy-to-learn routines, and provide video support for home practice. I also explain the biomechanics, physiology, psycho-emotional components, and the Chinese Medicine principles that support the development of inner qualities that are at the root of Tai-Chi and QiGong and their health benefits.
In my programs, I blend traditional Tai-Chi and QiGong methods with other experiences that shaped my life: my background as a Biomedical Engineer (PhD), and my holistic medicine skills as a Registered Acupuncturist and Shiatsu Therapist, as well as other experiences I have from athletic activities, pilates, and mindfulness. I am inspired by the ancient knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, its pertinence for the health issues of our modern society, as well as by the teachings of Chinese masters.

Patricia's Teachers
I study with Steve Higgins at Cold Mountain Internal Arts in Kitchener. There I practice the Yang 24 and 108 forms, the Old Yang form, animal QiGongs, 5 Section bare-hand partners, sword forms, 5 Section partner sword, and so many things that Steve teaches so well. You can join every year Cold Mountain and the Canadian Taijiquan Federation for our Chinese New Year celebration, in February.
Steve introduced me to Sam Masich about 7 years ago. I am progressively learning from the curriculum of the Masich Internal Arts Methods. Sam is a great teacher and a true Tai-Chi master. We are fortunate that he comes to Ontario regularly. I try to attend his week-end and intensive workshops once or twice a year. His workshops are worth every minute of it, and a lot of fun! People who attend come from all over Ontario and Quebec, from the USA, from Mexico, Germany, England, etc.
Steve and Sam are very open-minded and create a local, regional, national and international community of practitioners. Practicing with very advanced players and senior students of Steve and Sam helps me a lot!
Recently I started Kung Fu with the Golden Tiger School of Kung Fu in Kitchener. I even received my yellow belt after a couple of months of intense practice. I am enjoying learning more martial techniques in the context of the Chinese tradition, like Tai-Chi, and getting back to athletic performance. It's also a lot of fun to practice with a mix of adults and little kids!
